WBNG-TV: MEDICAL MARIJUANA DISPENSARY OPENS IN JC
Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Vireo Health of New York opened its doors at noon Thursday in Johnson City.
The medical cannabis dispensary will have three different forms of treatment for its patients. There are pills that look like any other pill you would be recommended by a doctor, an oil form that can be drawn into a syringe for use, and a vapor form that is inhaled. There are no marijuana plants at the facility.
“We aren’t selling any joints, we aren’t selling any pot brownies and we aren’t selling any products with offensive names like ‘AK-47.’ Instead we are selling pharmaceutical grade medical cannabis,” CEO of Vireo Health Ari Hoffnung said.
Doctors will recommend patients for use of medical marijuana, rather than prescribe it to them.
